Over the last 20 years, she has been at the forefront of several important domestic and international arbitrations and litigations representing large corportes across sectors such as technology, shipping, infrastructure, insurance, finance, pharmaceuticals, media and entertainment. While her practice continues to remain sector agnostic, she now focuses a fair share of her time on commercial, maritime and technology laws. She routinely advises and represents domestic and foreign clients on issues concerning contractual and shareholder rights, intellectual property rights, maritime and shipping claims, insolvency actions, etc. She also works with multinational companies on policy related assignments given the fast-changing nature of the Indian legal landscape particularly with respect to technology and shipping.
Indicative Experience
Advised and represented E-City Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. in a challenge u/s 48 of the Arbitration and Concliation Act, 1996 to the recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitral award passed by an ICC tribunal in favour of Imax Corporation in a sum of USD 11,309,496.06 and interest thereon at the rate of USD 2,512.60 per day from 1 October 2007 till payment and realization.
Advising and representing a prominent real estate developer and land owner in a series of litigations stemming from fraudulent dealings undertaken by the client’s joint venture partners including the unauthorised procurement of a loan from LIC Housing Finance Limited against an unauthorised mortgage of the client’s land. The litigations include proceedings before the Bombay High Court, RERA, the District Judge, Pune, the National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai Bench, and a sole arbitrator.
