Parinam advised and represented the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (“NSE”) in a first of its kind Comm. IP Suit before the Bombay High Court where injunction was sought with respect to deepfake videos featuring the MD & CEO of NSE which was being circulated on various social media platforms such as Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp. In the deep fake videos, MD and CEO’s voice and facial expressions were being imitated by perpetrators by using AI generated replica to persuade the common investors to join various social media platforms for stock picking. We were successful in obtaining injunction against these online perpetrators and directions against social media intermediaries.
