Parinam represents Serum Institute of India before the Supreme Court in case challenging vaccine mandates

Parinam advised and represented Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd. who was one of the Respondents in a petition before the Supreme Court of India challenging the vaccine mandates issued by different states during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Petitioner, Jacob Puliyel alleged that non-disclosure of segregated clinical trial data for the vaccine, absence of informed consent by users and imposition of vaccine mandates violated the right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. The Supreme Court in a landmark jugdment upheld the validity of the national vaccination policy as public health measure and found no reason to interfere with the regulatory process or emergency use approvals granted to vaccine manufacturers which included our client.
